Today we’re going to be discussing what to do and what not to do with edibles. We will also be going over some history of edibles, the best ways of consumption, and the things to look out for when utilizing edibles.
Edibles have been around for centuries, with proof of their use dating back to 2000 B.C. in an Indian drink referred to as Bhang. A sweet and aromatic drink made of yogurt, nuts, spices, and rose water.
Edibles have been used for both medicinal and recreational purposes throughout history. In the 1800s, hashish maple candy was developed. Then, in the 1900s, we had a real breakthrough…the baking of cannabis into fudge. And so with modern edibles gaining traction in the US in the 20th century a wide array of candies and baked goods were developed to meet consumer demands.
With so many states positioned to legalize at least some form of marijuana, many consumers will likely be faced with a similar choice, To Edible or not Edible? Edibles can be tricky to master so our advice is DON’T OVER DO IT! Pay attention to MG count and start small. The effects can take anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour all depending on your metabolism. Many first-time users make the mistake of consuming too much due to not paying attention to the dosage so it’s important to ask the vendor any question you may have.
Weed infusing has not only revolutionized the candy and baking industry but now certain restaurants and chefs have caught up with this trend and are infusing masterful dishes with THC as well, creating beautiful plates that leave you buzzing! So whatever your fancy just remember to not overdo it and pay attention to the concentration level and you’ll be high in no time.
